1999 Dan Zimpfer Memorial Scholarship Recipient

The Dan Zimpfer Memorial Scholarship is annually presented to a male gymnast of national/international stature whose progress in educational and gymnastics training can be aided by a scholarship award.  Dan Zimpfer was a member of the national team and a  resident at the Olympic Training Center before his untimely death in 1994.  The Scholarship Fund is jointly administrated by the National Gymnastics Foundation and the Zimpfer family. Sean Townsend (left) is seen here being presented the scholarship by Dennis McIntyre, Men's Program Manager. Sean is a member of the Texas Sports Ranch and is coaches by Kevin Mazeika.
