Texas Men’s Gymnastics
Meet Directors Guide Sheet
Dear Texas Meet Directors,
Good luck with your Texas gymnastics meet this
year. It is important that all meet
directors are well versed in the Texas Men’s Gymnastics Rules and Policies and
the National Boys Rules and Policies. Below
are a few rules and guidelines that must be followed.
All
meets must be sanctioned by USA-Gymnastics.
This includes making sure all
the proper paperwork is filled out, displayed and returned in accordance with
policy.
1.
The state chairman must be notified of your intent to
host a meet. This is usually done at the Texas coaches summer
business meeting. All meet directors must
fill out the proper paper work and give to the state chairman.
2.
Officials must be secured through the Texas Gymnastics
Judges Association. A $25 dollar fee is required with the proper paper
work filled out.
3.
All meets sanctioned and hosted in Texas are subject
to the following state taxes:
a.
Texas State Tax
1. The tax is $1 per paid athlete regardless of whether
they compete or not. The tax is not
levied for any fully refunded entry fee.
2. Make checks payable to “Texas State Account”.
3. Checks must be postmarked within 7 days of the meet.
b.
Sims Scholarship Tax
1. The tax is $1 per paid athlete regardless of whether
they compete or not. The tax is not
levied for any fully refunded entry fee.
2. Make check payable to: “Sims Scholarship Fund”
3. Checks must be postmarked within 7 days of the meet.
c.
Send all State Meet Tax checks to the Texas State
Chairman.
4. Sanction Forms/Meet Results
a. The Sanction Form must be completely filled
out, signed, copied and sent out to the:
State Chairman, Regional Chairman, USA-Gymnastics Sanctioning Department
within 48 hours of the meet.
b. The Meet Results must be sent to the Texas
State Chairman within 48 hours of the
meet.
5. Penalty
Fees
All Sanction forms and/or meet taxes that are postmarked
after the deadline dates are subject to a $50 late fee. This late fee will be assessed for each
occurrence (maximum of $150). Make
checks out to: “Sims Scholarship Fund”.
In the event that a deadline can not be made the meet
director must be contacted immediately and prior to the due date. Under certain reasonable conditions the
penalty fee can be dismissed.
All
late items, (state taxes, sanction form and/or late fees) must be cleared
before the first State Championship Meet.
Failure to turn in sanctions, meet taxes, and late fees will prohibit
your team from competing at all the Texas State Meets.
6. National
Scholarship Fund
The National Scholarship Fund tax is a separate tax
and must be sent to the USA-Gymnastics national office. Please be aware of their procedures.
7. Invitational
Rules and Policies
Our state would like for all meets to follow the same
guidelines as listed in the Texas Rules and Policies and National Rules and
Policies. However, each meet director has the right to adjust certain areas as
they see fit. This includes age groups
for awards and teams, competition scheduling and format, entry fees, and in certain
situations judging rules. It is very
important that the meet director makes every effort to convey these changes to
the teams participating.
